CapCut offers a rich library of editable video templates that you can customize with your own photos or videos. As of January 2026, template functionality is fully supported on Mobile and Web, while Desktop supports limited template use (official templates only, no community sharing).
Below is a platform-specific guide:
CapCut Online – Limited Template Use (No Community Templates)
As of January 2026, CapCut Web does not support templates from TikTok or the mobile template gallery. However, you can access a limited set of official templates during project creation:
- Go to https://www.capcut.com/signup and log in.
- Click "Create a video" → In the editor, look for a "Templates" tab (if available in your region).
- You may find basic built-in templates (e.g., for slideshows or intros), but you cannot browse trending or community templates.
- After customizing, click "Export" to download your video.
- You cannot copy template links or save/share demo videos like on mobile.
📍 Notice: The full template experience—including TikTok-integrated templates—is not available on Web.
CapCut Desktop (Windows / macOS) – No Template Discovery or Sharing
The desktop version does not support accessing the CapCut template library:
- When creating a new project, you may see a small "Templates" tab (or "Library") with a few official CapCut-designed templates (e.g., "Vlog Intro," "Promo").
- You can use and edit these built-in templates by replacing placeholder media and exporting via File > Export.
- However, you cannot:
– Access templates from TikTok or mobile;
– Browse the community template gallery;
– Copy, share, or save template links;
– See the "…" menu or "Use template" flow available on mobile.
