Built on six years of creating some of the internet’s most beloved editing experiences, CapCut has grown into an all-in-one global creative platform serving more than 700 million users across 170+ markets and 30 languages.
At CapCut World in Los Angeles, we brought together over 300 creators and partners to announce new AI-powered features that are evolving digital creation by turning advanced AI into simple creative experiences that give people more control and flexibility throughout the process.
“Creators across the Americas are showing us that a great idea can begin anywhere: in a quick edit, a reference image, a conversation or a story still taking shape. At CapCut World in LA, we are sharing new innovative ways to bring more of that journey together, across editing, generation, design and filmmaking, while keeping human imagination and judgment of the creator at the center.” - Xiaoqi Fu, Global Head of CapCut
CapCut Expands Creative Workflows with ChatGPT plugin
We want to make it easier for creators to turn ideas into reality, so we’re bringing CapCut to ChatGPT plugins for a more seamless creative workflow.
In the coming months, creators will be able to develop an idea with ChatGPT, use CapCut to assemble a first cut, then continue refining through conversation. They might ask to hold a shot longer, make captions easier to read or keep music underneath a voiceover. They can also make a hands-on edit themselves and continue the conversation with that change understood.
Editing with more ways to direct the work
We introduced four new AI-powered editing updates across Desktop, Web, and the CapCut mobile and table app to make professional creation more seamless across devices.
- 1
- EditPilot introduces prompt-based editing
- On CapCut Desktop, the updated EditPilot lets creators describe edits in natural language to handle complex or repetitive timeline tasks. For example, users can instruct CapCut to change the color of a specific object in a shot while keeping the rest intact. This helps creators who want to efficiently handle repetitive tasks at scale.
2 - Generative and Interactive Edit gives creators a more hands-on way to refine footage
- New Generative and Interactive Edit tools let creators work directly in the content preview window instead of rebuilding a sequence or reshooting a moment. Instead of telling CapCut what needs to be edited out of the video, creators can show it. Select exactly what you want to change, and keep refining until it's right.
3 - More versatile creation on web and mobile
- CapCut’s web editor is being upgraded with stronger editing performance, AI image, video, and audio generation, and a more connected asset workflow. Creators will be able to generate, organize, and edit on the web while keeping AI assets accessible across devices and projects. Interactive Edit, AI Extend, and Intelligent Audio are also coming to the web editor. On mobile, AI Lab gives creators a conversational space to develop ideas, explore possibilities, and turn photos and clips into projects such as vlogs or social recaps. From there, stories, assets, and creative context can move into the multi-track editor, keeping the workflow connected from first idea to final cut. CapCut is also expanding personalized templates that adapt to the volume of a user’s content and their preferred style.
4 - A more agentic experience coming soon to CapCut
- CapCut is also developing a more agentic creation experience to help creators move from a creative goal to a first draft and through refinement—while keeping the creator in control. The pilot will roll in the coming months on CapCut desktop, web, and mobile.
Keeping trust at the center of everything we build
As AI creates more opportunities to experiment, we're building safety and transparency into our experiences by design. This includes content moderation to prevent misuse, and measures like AI labels, C2PA Content Credentials, and invisible watermarks that help people identify AI-generated content online.
CapCut is now piloting a new AI transparency tool that helps people identify whether content was made with the help of CapCut, Dreamina, Pippit, or Hypic's AI tools, just by uploading the file they want to learn more about.
Supporting our global community of dynamic creators
At CapCut, our global creator community is what makes the platform unique. To support creators working at the cutting edge of editing and visual storytelling, we announced two new initiatives:
- Skills Marketplace on the web: A Skill can capture a visual style, repeatable workflow, creative technique, or character-building approach. Creators can share their expertise so others can use, adapt, and remix the process behind the work. For creators, this offers a new way to build recognition and turn a distinct creative point of view into influence and potential rewards. It also makes the platform more useful for people looking to learn a technique, explore a new visual direction, or turn a rough idea into something clearer.
- Visual Creator Program: Building on our Creator Partner Program, which supports more than 500 creators globally with tutorials, community resources, early access to AI features, global exposure, and potential brand and commercial partnerships, this new program is designed for creators working across graphic design, animation, visual design, and AI prompts and Skills. Interested creators can apply online.
Showcasing inspiring stories made with CapCut
CapCut also shared a behind the scenes featurette of the making of three short holiday movies that will be released later this year from MASSIVE Studios' Reza Sixo Safai, producer Todd Garner, and writers, Paul A. Kaplan and Mark Torgove. The filmmaker-led production combines traditional filmmaking disciplines with emerging CapCut's AI-assisted workflows.
CapCut World brought together creators shaping the next generation of filmmaking, marketing, design, and more. One of the day’s highlights was a discussion moderated by Paige Piskin, featuring Zack King, Gossip Goblin, and PJ Ace. Each panelist shared how they found their unique voice and built fandoms that span social media, ad campaigns, and theatrical films.
The inaugural CapCut World took place in Singapore in September. The third, and final, event of 2026 will take place in London in November and highlight our UK and European community. To learn more about our flagship event series, visit https://capcutworld.com/.
