You'll notice that clicking the avatar only shows basic info (e.g., account name, "Sign Out") but no option to edit your profile picture.

Why?

The desktop version is optimized for creative workflows, not social or account features. Profile management—including avatars—is intentionally delegated to the mobile app, where user identity and community features are centralized.

📍 Workaround:

  • Change your profile picture using the CapCut Mobile app.
  • Once updated, restart CapCut Desktop or wait a few minutes—the new avatar will automatically appear in the desktop interface due to cloud syncing.

CapCut Mobile App (iOS / Android) – Supported

  • Step 1: Open the CapCut app on your phone.
  • Step 2: Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the home screen, locate personal settings.
  • Step 3: In the personal settings, select the "Edit profile".
