Hi, thank you for contacting CapCut Customer Service. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. If your template lags during preview, it may be due to the use of AI Ultra HD or other resource-intensive editing features. This can make playback slower, especially on devices with limited processing power.
📍 For further assistance, please contact our support team.
Common Reasons for Template Lag
- 1
- AI Ultra HD or high-resolution effects – These features require more device resources. 2
- Long or complex drafts – Large amounts of footage or multiple effects can slow down playback. 3
- Network issues – Cloud-based assets may load slowly if your internet connection is unstable. 4
- Background apps – Other apps running simultaneously may consume memory and processing power.
Steps to Reduce Lag
- 1
- Simplify Your Project
- Shorten the duration of heavy footage.
- Reduce the number of effects or transitions.
- Try previewing smaller sections of the template first.
- 2
- Check Your Network
- Switch between Wi-Fi, 4G, or 5G.
- Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network.
- Restart the app and your device.
- 3
- Clear Cache Safely
Open CapCut → Settings → Clear cache.
📍 Do not clear app data through your device's system settings, or uninstall/reinstall the app, as this may delete local projects permanently.
- 4
- Update CapCut
- Visit the official app store (Google Play or App Store).
- Tap Update to install the latest version.
- 5
- Backup Important Projects
- Upload any critical projects to Cloud Space before making major changes.
If the Problem Persists
- 1
- Open CapCut → Settings → Feedback → Give Feedback. 2
- Include a screenshot or screen recording showing the lag issue. 3
- If redirected to Smart Chat, type Feedback, send it, and click Submit.
Once we receive your information, we will verify the issue and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
