This issue is usually caused by keyboard settings (where "Enter" acts as "Done") or because you have hit the character limit for that specific text box.
Please try the following steps to resolve the issue:
How to Force a Line Break (New Line)
On mobile devices, the default "Enter" or "Done" key on the keyboard often closes the keyboard instead of creating a new line.
- Look for the "New Line" Key: While typing, check your keyboard for a key that says "New Line" , "Return" , or shows a symbol like "↵".
- Switch Keyboard Layouts: If you don't see the "New Line" key, tap the Settings/Globe icon on your keyboard to switch layouts. Many third-party keyboards have a dedicated "New Line" key.
- iOS Specific: On iOS devices, the CapCut in-app keyboard often has a "New Line" button above the keyboard. Tap this button to move to the next line.
Check the Character Limit
Every text box in a template has a maximum character limit to ensure the text fits the screen aesthetically.
- The text box is full: If you cannot type any more characters, you have likely reached the limit.
- Solution: You need to shorten your text. Try using abbreviations or splitting the long text into two separate text boxes.
Adjust Text Size or Box Size
If the text is too large, the text box might appear "full" even if you haven't reached the character limit.
- Pinch to Zoom: Use two fingers to pinch the text on the screen to make the text smaller.
- Drag the Corners: If the text box has handles, drag the corners to make the box larger to fit more text.
Switch Input Method (IME)
Sometimes, specific language input methods (IME) can interfere with the "Enter" key function.
- Try switching your keyboard language (e.g., from Chinese Pinyin to English).
- Type the text in a simpler format first, and then switch back to style the text.
Restart the Text Tool
A temporary glitch might be preventing the input from working correctly.
- Tap outside the text box to close the editor.
- Re-select the text box or create a new one.
- Try typing again.
If you are still unable to edit the text properly, please check if the template itself has locked the text layer, preventing edits.
