Once an AI effect or template is removed from CapCut, it's typically no longer available for reapplication, even if you used or favorited it before. This applies across all platforms, though the reason and visibility may differ slightly:
CapCut Online
- Removed effects disappear from search, "Recently Used," and templates.
- Projects that already use the effect will still play it correctly, but you can't add it to new clips.
CapCut Desktop (Windows/macOS)
- The desktop app relies on the same cloud library as Web.
- If an effect is delisted, it won't appear in the Effects panel or favorites—even in existing projects opened later.
- Rendered videos remain unaffected, but editing the effect is no longer possible.
CapCut Mobile App (iOS/Android)
- Most AI effects are server-delivered and updated silently.
- Deleted effects vanish from all menus, including "My Favorites" or history.
- There's no local backup—once gone, they can't be restored manually.
