Even if you've been approved as a CapCut creator, you might still encounter issues when trying to publish a template. This can happen for several specific reasons. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot:

Table of content
  1. Confirm Your Account Is Fully Verified
  2. Check Regional Availability
  3. Review Template Content Restrictions
  4. Ensure You're Using the Correct Publishing Flow
  5. Update CapCut to the Latest Version

Confirm Your Account Is Fully Verified

  • Being "a creator" doesn't always mean you have template publishing privileges.
  • Ensure your account has completed all required verifications (e.g., phone number, email, or TikTok binding).
  • Some creator statuses only grant access to analytics or monetization—not template publishing.

Check Regional Availability

  • Template publishing is only enabled in select countries/regions, such as Brazil, the U.S., and parts of Southeast Asia.

📍 To check this, you can visit CapCut's official website or community forums to see if there are any announcements regarding regional availability. If you're in an area where the feature isn't supported, you won't be able to publish templates.

  • Even if you applied as a creator from a supported region, if your current device IP or App Store/Google Play account region has changed, the feature may be disabled.Go to your device’s app store settings to verify your account region.

Review Template Content Restrictions

Your template may be blocked from publishing due to content issues:

  • Contains AI effects: Templates with AI-generated elements (e.g., AI Script, AI Portrait, Text-to-Video) cannot be published unless you’re in an official test group.
  • Uses copyrighted material: Background music not from CapCut's library, watermarked stock footage, or brand logos may trigger automatic rejection.
  • Lacks editable elements: A valid template must include at least one placeholder (e.g., text, image/video slot) that others can customize.

Ensure You're Using the Correct Publishing Flow

  • On mobile, open your project → tap "Publish as Template" (not "Export Video" or "Share").
  • Fill in all required fields: title, category, tags, and cover image. Missing any of these will prevent submission.

Update CapCut to the Latest Version

  • Older app versions may display the publish button but fail during submission due to API changes.
  • Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and update CapCut. Restart the app afterward.

If you've checked all the above and still can't publish, please contact CapCut Creator Support. We appreciate your creativity and are here to help you share your templates with the community!
