Template search is available on CapCut Mobile and CapCut Web, but not on Desktop (which only shows a limited set of built-in templates without a search function). If you're using Mobile or Web and your template search returns no results, please follow the steps below based on your platform.

Table of content
  1. CapCut Online
  2. CapCut Desktop (Windows / macOS)
  3. CapCut Mobile App (iOS / Android)

CapCut Online

If template search on the web returns empty results:

Refresh the page and check your internet

  • A weak or unstable connection can prevent template data from loading.
  • Try reloading the page or using a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari recommended).

Use simpler or more common keywords

  • Avoid overly specific phrases. Try "travel," "vlog," or "fashion" instead of "summer beach vlog with drone shots."

Log in to your CapCut account

  • Some templates are only visible when you're signed in.
  • Click your profile icon → "Sign in" if needed.

Check browser extensions or ad blockers

  • Ad blockers (e.g., uBlock Origin) or privacy tools may block template API calls.
  • Temporarily disable them and reload CapCut Online.

Verify your region

  • CapCut Web uses geolocation to serve templates.
  • If you're using a VPN, try turning it off—some regions restrict template access.

Clear browser cache

  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Del (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Del (Mac) to clear cached images and files.
  • Restart the browser and revisit https://www.capcut.com.

📍 Note: The web template gallery is smaller than the mobile one. If a keyword works on mobile but not on web, it likely means that template isn't published to the web platform.

CapCut Desktop (Windows / macOS)

The desktop app does not have a template search function.

  • When creating a new project, you'll see a "Templates" tab, but it only displays a small set of preloaded free templates with no search bar.
  • Therefore, "template search showing no content" does not apply to the desktop version.

📍 Note: If you need to search for templates, use the CapCut mobile app or visit CapCut Online in a browser.

CapCut Mobile App (iOS / Android)

If your template search shows no content:

Check your internet connection

  • Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • Try switching networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to 4G/5G) and retry the search.

Try different or broader keywords

  • Instead of "birthday party 2026," try "birthday" or "party."
  • Some templates may not be tagged with very specific terms.

Update the CapCut app

  • Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Make sure you're using the latest version—older versions may have outdated template APIs.

Check your region/account eligibility

  • Certain templates (especially paid or trending ones) are only available in select regions (e.g., U.S., India, Brazil).
  • Log out and back in to refresh your account's regional settings.

Restart the app or device

  • Close CapCut completely and relaunch it.
  • If the issue persists, restart your phone.

📍 Note: If you still see no results after trying all steps, the template library may be temporarily unavailable in your area. Please wait and try again later.

Thank you for using CapCut! If the issue continues, feel free to contact CapCut Support via the app (Profile → Settings → Help Center).
