CapCut does not have a built-in feature to automatically convert text from Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese within the app. However, you can still achieve this conversion using system-level tools or external methods—depending on your device and platform. Below are instructions for each supported platform where text editing is available.
📍 Note: Text editing (including adding captions, titles, or stickers with Chinese characters) is available on Mobile, Desktop, and Web. But character set conversion must be done externally, as CapCut treats text as plain input without language transformation capabilities.
CapCut Online
The web version also lacks native conversion, but you can:
Step 1: Convert text externally
- Use browser-based tools:
- Google Translate: Set source = "Chinese (Simplified)", target = "Chinese (Traditional)".
- Paste your Simplified text → Copy the Traditional output.
Step 2: Paste into CapCut Web
- In the web editor, click a text layer → Delete placeholder → Paste your converted Traditional Chinese text.
📍 Tip: Keep your original draft saved elsewhere—refreshing the page may lose unsaved edits.
CapCut Desktop (Windows / macOS)
CapCut Desktop has no internal conversion function, but you can leverage your operating system:
On macOS:
- Open System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources.
- Add "Chinese – Traditional" or enable "Simplified ↔ Traditional" conversion in the input menu (menu bar).
- While editing text in CapCut, type your Simplified text, then press Control + Command + T (default shortcut) to convert selected text to Traditional Chinese.
- Alternatively, use TextEdit or Notes to convert first, then copy-paste into CapCut.
On Windows:
- Use Microsoft Pinyin Input Method (built into Windows 10/11).
- Type Simplified Chinese in any text field.
- Right-click the typed text in the input candidate bar → Choose "简体转繁体" (Simplified to Traditional).
- Copy the result and paste it into CapCut.
Or use online converters (e.g., Google Translate) as an intermediary step.

Step 1: Use your device's built-in conversion tool
- On iOS:

CapCut focuses on editing and rendering, not linguistic transformation. For accurate results, always review converted text before finalizing your video.
