CapCut automatically saves your editing history as "tasks" or "projects" so you can resume work later. If you want to free up space or remove unwanted entries, you can delete these historical tasks. The steps vary slightly depending on whether you're using mobile, PC, or web.
Delete history task on CapCut Mobile

- Open the CapCut app on your phone. 2
- Go to the Projects tab at the bottom of the screen. 3
- Find the project you want to delete. 4
- Tap and hold the project thumbnail, or tap the three-dot menu (⋯) of the project.

- Select Delete from the options that appear.

- Confirm deletion when prompted.
📍 Tip: Deleted projects cannot be recovered. Make sure you no longer need the file before deleting.
Delete history task on CapCut PC

- Launch the CapCut desktop application. 2
- In the main interface, locate your Projects section.

- Right-click, or click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the bottom-right corner of the project you wish to delete.

- A confirmation dialog will pop up—click OK to confirm.
📍 Tip: If you have several files you want to delete simultaneously, you can select them all at once.

- Open CapCut Web in your browser and log in. 2
- On the homepage, find Recent Projects section.

- Find the history task you want to remove. 4
- Right-click,or click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the bottom-right corner. 5
- Choose Move to Trash from the dropdown menu.

📍 Tip: CapCut Web syncs with your account, so deleting a project here will also remove it from other devices linked to the same account.
